Chiefs Improve to 27-18 with 3-0 Win
|
Caleb Tessler pitched a gem to lead Peoria to victory over the Kane County Cougars, 3-0. Jim Benoit collected save number 6. The Western Division-leading Chiefs are 27-18.
The Cougars had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Chiefs going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old center fielder Ron Wise came to the plate. Wise hit a 2-run triple on a full count fastball from Kane County hurler Luis Figueroa. It was Wise's 3rd triple of the year.
"I felt like I had pretty good command of mostly everything," said Tessler.
