Loons Come Back Late, Nip Hot Rods
Despite a great performance by Bowling Green designated hitter Jeff Sheeley, the Great Lakes Loons defeated the Hot Rods by the score of 5-4 at Bowling Green Ballpark. Sheeley was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Picking up his 8th save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Justin Tieken. The win puts the Loons at 24-21, while the Hot Rods drop to 20-25.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Josh Buffington? The 22-year old catcher Buffington stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Great Lakes up, 5-3. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Buffington. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
