Lugnuts Stay Hot With 4-3 Win
The Lansing Lugnuts did just enough to secure a victory over the South Bend Cubs, 4-3, at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Brad Phillips. The save went to Aaron Crum, his 10th this season. The win elevated the Lugnuts to 29-16.

In the top of the fourth, Lansing second baseman Angel Contreras had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Contreras stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 1-0, Lansing. For the game, he was 1-4.

"Winning breeds more winning, I guess," said Contreras.
