Chiefs Top Kernels, 6-0
|
Left-hander Matt Bates mesmerized the Cedar Rapids Kernels while leading the Peoria Chiefs to a 6-0 victory. Peoria currently is in 6th place in the Western Division at 22-25.
The Chiefs got a big hit from third baseman Jose Pineiro. In the bottom of the sixth, Pineiro pounded a 2-run home run to center. His 3rd home run of the season put the Chiefs ahead, 4-0.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Pineiro.
