The West Michigan Whitecaps downed the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 6-3, at Parkview Field. The Whitecaps were led by Mike Severs. Severs was 3-6 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. West Michigan reliever Elias Salinas got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Jon Miller was tagged with the loss. Jose Padron closed the game out for West Michigan, earning his 1st save.

Jesse DuPont had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the fourth for West Michigan. With the bases loaded and the Whitecaps leading 3-2, he hit a sacrifice fly.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Severs. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
