Starting pitcher Ruben Perez pitched well enough to help the Burlington Bees beat the Peoria Chiefs, 5-4. Burlington reliever Ruben Perez got the win, raising his record to 3-4. David Herrera was tagged with the loss. The Bees, at 23-26, sit in 4th place in the Western Division.

Burlington used a clutch at-bat from Matt Rose to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Bees ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Rose told the Burlington Daily: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
