Hot Rods Losers, 4-1, Versus Dayton
|
The Dayton Dragons went home winners at Bowling Green Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Luis Sanchez. Sanchez stifled the Bowling Green Hot Rods, enabling Dayton to grab the 4-1 win. The winning pitcher was Sanchez, now 3-4. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. Dayton, at 17-35, occupies 7th place in the Eastern Division.
It could have been a different outcome for Dayton, had it not been for Nick Gillett, the 22-year old shortstop . Gillett contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Dayton up, 3-1.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Gillett.
