The Clinton LumberKings got a stellar performance from pitcher Egbert Nicolai, who handcuffed the Burlington offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Community Field. Nate Sharp closed the door for Clinton, picking up his 7th save of the year. Burlington's current losing streak is now 6 games.
Chris Cervantes chipped in for Clinton, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning. For the game, the center fielder was 1-5.
"The want-to is there for our guys," said Burlington manager Ethan Isler. "We'll get this thing turned around."
