River Bandits Cut Down Bees, 6-2
|
Thanks in large part to right fielder Zach Renfroe, the Quad Cities River Bandits beat the Burlington Bees, 6-2. Renfroe went 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Quad Cities leads the Western Division by 3½ games.
In the bottom of the seventh, Quad Cities catcher Donovan Butler had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Burlington hurler Milt Shannon, Butler drew a walk, driving in 1 run. That made the score 4-2, Quad Cities. For the day, Butler drew 2 walks in 4 trips to the plate.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said River Bandits manager Tom Sleeper.
