The Dayton Dragons defeated the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 7-3. First Baseman Joey Sims deserved a large share of the credit. Sims went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Dragons. The second-place Dragons lifted their record to 32-23.

Camillo Sapia had a big 2-run triple for the Dragons in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Dayton leading 5-3 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Leon Rojas and swatted a triple to right. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dragons ahead, 7-3.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Sims.
