LumberKings Beat Bees, 2-0, at Ashford University Field
|
The Clinton LumberKings claimed a close win over the Burlington Bees, due in large part to Josh McCurley. The Clinton right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. Nazih bin Burhan sewed up the save, his 3rd. Clinton's record now stands at 22-34, placing them 7th in the Western Division.
Felipe Miranda had a big solo home run for the LumberKings in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Clinton leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 21-year old left-handed pitcher Carlos Romano and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the LumberKings on top, 2-0.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Miranda.
