LumberKings Suffer One-Run Loss at Quad Cities
Despite a fine performance by second baseman Kent McClendon, the Clinton LumberKings lost to the Quad Cities River Bandits, 6-5. McClendon was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Alex Molina nailed down the save. Quad Cities is 23-34 and Clinton, with the loss, 32-25.

Rocco Robbins had a big run-scoring double for the River Bandits in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Quad Cities leading 5-3 and a runner on 2nd, he got a slider from Tom Frye, who is tied for 3rd in the MID in complete games with 4, and swatted a double to center. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the River Bandits ahead, 6-3.

"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Robbins said.
