West Michigan got a strong outing from Pat Blair as the Whitecaps defeated the Lansing Lugnuts, 5-1, at Cooley Law School Stadium. Picking up his 2nd save was 22-year old left-handed pitcher Javier Hernandez. West Michigan bumps their record to 25-35 with the win.

Making an impact for West Michigan was shortstop Collin Dean. He drilled a double off Brian Raymer in the top of the first. For the game, Dean was 2 for 4 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 runs.
