Lake County Bats Quiet in 7-1 Loss
The Bowling Green Hot Rods rode a solid performance from 22-year-old starting pitcher Mike Chase to a win, beating the Lake County Captains, 7-1, at Classic Park. The last-place Captains dropped to 15-44.

Bowling Green used a clutch at-bat from Mel Garcia to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Hot Rods ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I thought we were prepared," Lake County manager Justin Hollingsworth said after the game. "I thought we'd be more competitive out there."
