Snappers Take Down LumberKings, 6-4
|
Beloit center fielder Gordie Spencer contributed to his team's 6-4 win over the Clinton LumberKings. Spencer, who is tied for 8th in the MID in triples with 4, went 3 for 5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Snappers. Gerardo Alvarado was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 4 save opportunities. The Snappers are now 33-27, while the LumberKings fall to 22-38.
Spencer had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 2-2 curveball from Blake Kubler, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Snappers a 6-4 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Spencer.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Snappers manager Bill Zamora.
