Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Loons beat the Lugnuts.

In a well-pitched game between the Great Lakes Loons and the Lansing Lugnuts, pitcher Mark Matthews was fantastic. The Great Lakes left-hander helped his team secure the win, 3-0. Matthews picked up the win for Great Lakes, going 7.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 6-3. Eric Schmidt nailed down his 18th save.

The Loons had to work out of trouble in the top of the sixth. The score was 3-0, Great Lakes, with no one out. Lansing, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Dusty Westbrook dug in at the plate, but on a 3-1 sinker, he hit into a double play.
