Late Magic Gets Great Lakes 2-1 Win
|
Cooley Law School Stadium was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
The Great Lakes Loons wiggled past the Lansing Lugnuts, 2-1, at Cooley Law School Stadium. The win was highlighted by the performance of Great Lakes pitcher Eric Anderson. Kevin Rivas got credit for the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.2 innings.
Great Lakes used the timely hitting of Pete Betts to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Loons on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
In postgame comments, Anderson said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
The third-place Loons are now 39-23, the Lugnuts 39-23.
