LumberKings Deal Cougars 7-0 Defeat
|
Clinton starter Willis Silguero put a stranglehold on the Kane County offense. The right-hander had complete command of his sinker in leading the LumberKings to a 7-0 win. Manuel Maestas earned the save for Clinton, his 1st. Clinton, with the win, is 18-47.
Zach Davidson went 1-3 with a walk for Clinton. The 23-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Mike Newman. It was his 1st hit of the season.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Silguero told the Clinton Daily News.
