The Lansing Lugnuts and South Bend Cubs played an entertaining game for Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium patrons.

The Lansing Lugnuts eked out a 3-2 win versus the South Bend Cubs at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Luis Rodas. He was terrific. Rodas, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 9, walking 0, and allowing 1 run.

Andy Belfon came through with a big-time hit for Lansing. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," South Bend manager Ray Behm said, following the tough loss.

With the win over South Bend, the Lugnuts improved to 31-35.
