Hot Rods Reel Off Another Win
The Bowling Green Hot Rods got a strong performance from pitcher Armando Ortega, who stymied the West Michigan offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Bowling Green Ballpark. In 6.2 innings, Ortega surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 12 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Amari Pedicone was credited with the save for Bowling Green, his 10th of the season.

The Hot Rods got a big hit from center fielder Daniel Melendrez. In the bottom of the fifth, Melendrez pounded a 2-run home run to left-center. His 2nd home run of the season put the Hot Rods ahead, 3-0.

"I went after the hitters," said Ortega. "No pussyfooting around."

The Hot Rods go to 42-25, putting them second in the Eastern Division.
