Aykhaz Kushkian added some punch to the Clinton offense, helping them outmuscle the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 10-7. In the game, Kushkian, who leads the MID in hits with 73, went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Clinton pitcher Melvin Robles got the win. He's now 4-1. David Donovan was tagged with the loss. The third-place LumberKings have won 5 straight.

Carlos Lujan had a big 2-run home run for the LumberKings in the top of the third inning. With Clinton trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a forkball from 23-year old left-handed pitcher David Donovan and swatted a home run to right. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the LumberKings ahead, 2-1.
