Burlington Wins, 5-0
|
Burlington Bees starter Juan Sanchez turned in a top-notch performance against the Cedar Rapids Kernels at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The result was a win for the Bees, 5-0. The 5th-place Bees lifted their record to 34-34.
Burlington relied on the hitting of Adrian Ellis to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Bees on top, 3-0. For the game, Ellis had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Burlington manager Ethan Isler.
