Snappers Fall to Cougars, 7-3
|
The Kane County Cougars defeated the Beloit Snappers, 7-3, in Midwest League action at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark. Kane County pitcher Steve Frenn had a standout performance. Frenn went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 5-2. Kane County currently is in second place in the Western Division at 40-28.
The Cougars got an important contribution from catcher Nick Gough, who in the bottom of the third punched a full count fastball into right-center for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Cougars ahead, 7-1.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Frenn told the Kane County Gazette.
