Dragons 5-3 Losers to Whitecaps
The West Michigan Whitecaps used the hitting of third baseman Lazaro Rodriguez to subdue the Dayton Dragons, 5-3. For the game, Rodriguez was 2 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. West Michigan pitcher Steve Exner got the win. He's now 4-4. Brian Scalfaro was tagged with the loss. Dan Brown earned the save for West Michigan, his 4th.

With West Michigan leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Rodriguez batted against Dayton pitcher Brian Scalfaro. Rodriguez hit a fastball to left for a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season put the Whitecaps on top, 4-1.
