River Bandits Beat LumberKings, 9-3
|
The Quad Cities River Bandits topped the Clinton LumberKings, 9-3, in Midwest League action at Modern Woodmen Park. The standout performance belonged to Quad Cities pitcher and Des Plaines, Illinois, native Avery Norris. The 'W' lifts Quad Cities's record to 44-26.
Quad Cities first baseman Travis Goodman contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 37th hit of the season and put the River Bandits ahead, 6-3.
"Good team win," Goodman said. "I love it when a plan comes together."
