Machado Lifts Dragons to 9-2 Win
Getting a good performance from right fielder Gerardo Machado, the Dayton Dragons defeated the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 9-2. Machado went 2-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for the Dragons. Seth Jinks, the winner, improved to 6-3. He held the Hot Rods to 2 runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3. With this game in the books, Dayton is 34-38, Bowling Green 42-30.

Machado contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Dayton in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-0, Machado took a fastball from Armando Ortega and stroked the home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Dragons to leap in front, 3-2.

"We had a nice day," said Dayton skipper Joel Bachman.
