TinCaps Tagged with 4-2 Loss
|
The Lake County Captains tallied a win at Classic Park, throttling the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 4-2. Starting pitcher Ben Tourville was a big reason for his team's success. Tourville picked up the win for Lake County, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-3. Devin Cain earned the save for Lake County, his 8th.
Dan Lantz had a big 3-run home run for the Captains in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Lake County trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Rich Sanchez and swatted a home run to left. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Captains ahead, 3-1.
After the game, Lake County manager Garrett Holt applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The Captains now have a record of 35-38.
