TinCaps Scratch and Claw to 6-4 Win
The Fort Wayne TinCaps topped the Lake County Captains, 6-4, in Midwest League action at Classic Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Fort Wayne pitcher Jonathan Texter. Fort Wayne reliever Blake Carpenter was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Bob Miller. The save was credited to Matt O'Neal, his 1st.

Fort Wayne used a clutch hit from Mike Ranieri to get the win. The center fielder drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the TinCaps ahead, 6-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Fort Wayne manager Adam Will.

The TinCaps now have a record of 42-31.
