Ruiz 4-for-5 to Fuel Hot Rods Offense
The Bowling Green Hot Rods knocked off the South Bend Cubs, 16-5, at Bowling Green Ballpark. Alex Ruiz was a big reason Bowling Green won. The right fielder went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. The Hot Rods saw their record improve to 33-40.

With Bowling Green leading 13-5 in the bottom of the sixth, Ruiz batted against South Bend pitcher Fernan Lameiras. Ruiz hit a fastball to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season put the Hot Rods on top, 16-5.

"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," Ruiz told the Bowling Green Citizen.
