Hot Rods Down Dragons, 9-4
|
The Bowling Green Hot Rods trumped the Dayton Dragons, 9-4, at Bowling Green Ballpark. Bowling Green center fielder Daniel Melendrez was terrific. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Picking up the win was Jesse Aguiar. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 0. After today's action, Bowling Green sits at 44-30, while Dayton falls to 34-40.
Ken Conley dealt the Dragons a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Bowling Green leading 2-1, Conley hit a first pitch splitter for a 2-run single.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Conley told the Bowling Green Citizen.
