Juan Lara was superb against Beloit. The right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the MID in complete games with 1, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Cougars victory. The score was 4-3. Brandon Archer recorded the save for Kane County, his 4th of the season. The second-place Cougars have won 5 straight games.

The Snappers had little chance against Lara, who overpowered Beloit hitters and struck out 10.

"Juan was throwing with conviction," said Kane County manager Vince Lindsay.
