Snappers Take Nail-Biter Over Cougars
|
There was never a dull moment in an extra-length game between the Beloit Snappers and the Kane County Cougars.
In a low-scoring game between Beloit and Kane County, Bruce Caruso was fantastic. The Snappers right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the MID in complete games with 2, helped his team beat the Cougars, 2-1, in 10 innings. The Snappers are now 33-42.
Beloit got a knockout punch from Sal Pena. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Tough loss," said Kane County manager Vince Lindsay. "The kind that burns a little inside."
