Great Lakes Defeated by West Michigan, 4-2
|
The West Michigan Whitecaps got a good effort from starter Stephen Hightower in defeating the Great Lakes Loons at Fifth Third Ballpark. The final score was 4-2. The third-place Loons now sit at 41-34.
The Whitecaps got a big at-bat from right fielder Ryan Anderson. For the game, Anderson went 2-4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 14th double of the season gave West Michigan a 2-1 lead.
Said losing manager Jake Landen: "Give the Whitecaps credit. They played a better game than we did."
