LumberKings Win in Extras, 3-1
|
The Clinton LumberKings, despite a fine performance by Quad Cities pitcher Chris Kleinhesselink, grabbed a 3-1 win in 11 innings at Modern Woodmen Park. Kleinhesselink allowed 1 run over 7.1 innings. Clinton occupies last place in the Western Division at 22-55.
Zack DiPilato came through with a big-time hit for Clinton. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"This ballgame left me feeling kind of raw," said Quad Cities manager Rich Mejia.
