Beloit Scrapes Out 3-2 Win
The Beloit Snappers beat the Kane County Cougars, 3-2. Beloit pitcher and Bloomington, Illinois, native Brian Richter led the way. Jesus Torres picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Gerardo Polanco suffered the loss. With the win, Beloit has a record of 34-43. Kane County falls to 42-35.

Had Omar Guerrero not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Guerrero hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Snappers.

"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Snappers manager Jeff Brock.
