|
The Clinton LumberKings defeated the Quad Cities River Bandits, 6-4. First Baseman Jake Flynn deserved a large share of the credit. Flynn was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the LumberKings. The triumph makes Clinton 28-52.
Clinton used the timely hitting of John Siebert to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the LumberKings on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Flynn told the Clinton Citizen. "You win just by scoring more runs."
