The Bowling Green Hot Rods had to reckon with Lansing Lugnuts hurler Andrew Wright. Wright, the 29th overall pick in the 2107 draft, overwhelmed the opposition in the 9-1 Lugnuts triumph. Lansing reliever Andrew Wright got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Angelo Garza was tagged with the loss. With the win, Lansing goes to 38-43, while the Hot Rods fall to 27-54.

Lansing used a well-timed hit by Brian Priddy to capture the win. The second baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Lugnuts ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

Bowling Green manager Ernesto Torre said: "Sometimes, for whatever reason, you go through periods where it just isn't very good."
