Bees Hang 2-0 Loss on River Bandits
|
The Burlington Bees claimed a close win over the Quad Cities River Bandits, due in large part to Frank Vargas. The Burlington right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. Vargas picked up the win for Burlington, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 6-6. The save was credited to Mike James, his 8th.
In the bottom of the first, Kyle Harrison delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Burlington first baseman hit a 2-run single, putting the Bees in front, 2-0.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Quad Cities skipper Maxwell Judson, "and it cost us."
After today's action, Burlington sits at 30-55, while Quad Cities falls to 38-47.
