The Clinton LumberKings picked up a win at Harry C. Pohlman Field, downing the Beloit Snappers, 2-1, in 10 innings. On the mound for Clinton was left-hander Mike England, who played a pivotal role in the win. The LumberKings now own a record of 35-51.
The Snappers had few good swings against England, the left-hander, who threw 100 pitches over 8 innings. He allowed just no runs on 5 hits.
"We had a chance to win," said Beloit manager Jeff Brock, "but we didn't get it done."
