Late Magic Gets Fort Wayne 8-5 Win
Fort Wayne and Great Lakes put this game in the books despite some rain.

The Fort Wayne TinCaps beat the Great Lakes Loons by a score of 8-5. Fort Wayne designated hitter Ryan Sheflin deserved the lion's share of the credit. Sheflin slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the TinCaps. Fort Wayne reliever Blake Carpenter picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Bill DeFiore absorbed the loss.

Sheflin had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-1 sinker from Bill DeFiore, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the TinCaps a 8-5 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Sheflin.

"Our guys refused to lose," said Sheflin.

Fort Wayne, at 53-35, occupies 4th place in the Eastern Division.
