Chiefs Losers, 4-1, Versus Burlington
|
Behind an impressive start by Justin Miller, Burlington beat Peoria, 4-1. The winning pitcher was Miller, now 4-4. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Rodrigo Santiago earned the save for Burlington, his 2nd.
Ethan Kaufman had a big run-scoring triple for the Bees in the top of the sixth inning. With Burlington leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Ryan Foster and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bees ahead, 3-1.
"It's still just a game," said Miller, "whether you win or lose."
After today's action, Burlington sits at 41-47; Peoria slips to 59-29.
