Timber Rattlers Suffer 5-4 Setback
|
Denny Gurganus, who leads the MID in wins with 9, was locked in. The right-hander led the Lansing Lugnuts to a 5-4 win against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at Cooley Law School Stadium. The 5th-place Lugnuts now have a record of 45-45.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Lansing shortstop Devon Smith, facing Jon Will, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Lugnuts the 5-4 win.
"Denny is one tough hombre," said Lansing manager Phil Phalen.
