Floundering Dragons Lose 6th Straight
|
Spirited fans greeted the Dayton Dragons for their clash with the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
The Cedar Rapids Kernels defeated the Dayton Dragons, 7-5. Doing his part was left fielder Ryan Thomas, who was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win belongs to Yves Marot in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Rich Chene took the loss for Dayton. Jaden Moore was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for Cedar Rapids, had it not been for Alberto Rivera, the 22-year old second baseman . Rivera contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Cedar Rapids up, 6-5.
Rivera called the triumph "a good team win."
Dayton now has a 6-game losing streak.
