Soggy conditions did not keep Dayton and Clinton from playing their scheduled game.
The Dayton Dragons got a magnificent performance from pitcher Alejandro Hernandez, who muffled the Clinton offense en route to a tight, 2-0 Dragons win at Ashford University Field. The winner was Hernandez. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Edwin Covarrubias.
The Dragons got a big at-bat from first baseman Fernando Leal. For the game, Leal went 1-3 with a triple. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Dayton a 1-0 lead.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Leal.
Dayton is now 48-46, Clinton 40-54.
