Luis Munguia, despite pitching a good game, was disappointed in the outcome: a tough, 2-1, defeat for the Dayton Dragons at the hands of the Kane County Cougars at Fifth Third Field. Kane County starter Jason Burtner was credited with the win after throwing 93 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 8-3. Brandon Archer earned the save, his 15th, for the Cougars.
Kane County used the hitting of Chad Chrisley to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cougars on top, 2-0. For the game, Chrisley had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Not everyone likes pitching duels," said Chrisley. "But I do."
Kane County is now 55-42, while Dayton is 47-50.
