Bees Beat Whitecaps, 2-0
|
The Burlington Bees faced a tough opponent in West Michigan pitcher Chris Washington, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Fifth Third Ballpark by a final score of 2-0. Washington went 5 innings and allowed no runs. The winner in relief was Pete Christian. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3.2 innings. He now owns a record of 7-1. Burlington has a record of 46-51, placing them 5th in the Western Division.
The Bees benefited from a costly error in the top of the ninth. With Danny Jester at bat and Burlington leading 1-0, the West Michigan miscue allowed Burlington to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.
"We all want to win," said Jester. "We all want to do our part."
