Steve Exner propelled his team to victory over the Burlington Bees. The final score was 5-3, West Michigan. Craig Wells notched his 6th save in 11 chances. West Michigan goes to 52-46, Burlington to 48-50.

The Bees had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Whitecaps going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old center fielder Josh Vaughn came to the plate. Vaughn hit a 2-run home run on a 1-1 fastball from Burlington hurler Andres Pinedo. It was Vaughn's 4th home run of the year.

"I just tried to stick to my strengths," said Exner.
