At Dow Diamond, the Cedar Rapids Kernels and Great Lakes Loons were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Starting pitcher Randy Reis had a solid game. He was a big reason the Great Lakes Loons throttled the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Reis, now 8-6. He tossed 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 7.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Lee Lewis didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Cedar Rapids trailing 3-1, Lewis retired Jose Navarro to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Lewis, with a wink.

Great Lakes bumps their record to 52-46 with the win.
