Late Magic Gets Bowling Green 4-0 Win
|
Jesse Aguiar never let the Captains get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Hot Rods to a win, 4-0. Bowling Green reliever Jerry Rosoff was the winner. His record is now 4-1. The losing pitcher was Jason Pettus. Bowling Green is now 55-46, Lake County 70-31.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Joey Wenzel came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Lake County pitcher Jason Pettus, he hit a 0-2 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Bowling Green on top, 1-0.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Aguiar.
