The Kane County Cougars defeated the Clinton LumberKings by the score of 7-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman Tim Kase. Kase went 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Cougars on the day. Chi-ju Tze collected his 4th save. The Cougars own a robust 66-35 mark.
Fernando Carreon had a big 3-run home run for the Cougars in the bottom of the third inning. With Kane County leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Guillermo Lopez and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Cougars on top, 4-0.
