Whitecaps Earn Late Win
Dayton first baseman Santiago Falcon had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Falcon was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2, even as West Michigan beat the Dragons, 9-8. The third-place Dragons dropped to 56-46.

Joseph Syer had a big 2-run double for the Whitecaps in the top of the third inning. With West Michigan leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Brian O'Halloran and swatted a double to center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Whitecaps ahead, 4-1.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said West Michigan manager Noah Fourie.
